Opera Grand Rapids is the oldest professional opera company in Michigan and serves as West and Mid-Michigan's only professional opera production company.

Under the direction of Artistic Director Robert Lyall, the company brings to life three productions each year on the De Vos Hall stage. Each Opera Grand Rapids production is a unique experience that combines premier national voices with a regional chorus, and the Grand Rapids Symphony.

A unique cultural resource, Opera Grand Rapids has built a national reputation for high artistic standards, and the ability to stage productions on par with the quality of much larger companies. Each year Opera Grand Rapids' productions are enjoyed by thousands of students throughout our educational programs and ticket buyers in more than 48 counties throughout lower and mid Michigan.

Less than 40% of the cost of producing an opera is covered by ticket sales. To bring top quality, professional opera to life in West Michigan, Opera Grand Rapids relies on the generosity and support of individuals, corporations and foundations.

Production Sponsorship - ($12,000 +)
Provides general funding to help underwrite the overall costs of a production.

Symphony Sponsorship - ($6,000 +)
Provides funding to help underwrite the cost of engaging the Grand Rapids Symphony production.

Artist Sponsorship - ($6,000 +)
Provides funding to help underwrite the cost of engaging the principal artists for a production.

Technical Sponsorship - ($3,500 +)
Provides funding to help underwrite the technical costs of a production.

Student Dress Rehearsal Sponsorship - ($6,000 +)
Provides funding to help underwrite the overall costs of inviting up to 1,600 high school students to the final dress rehearsal of one production.

Educational Compact Disc Sponsorship - ($5,000 +)
Provides funding to underwrite the overall costs of producing and distributing approximately 1,000 compact discs, which provide an introduction to the opera, with narrative and musical examples to students, educators and opera patrons.

Operatunity Sponsorship - ($4,000 +)
Provides funding to underwrite the costs of a backstage speakers series with pizza and pop for 100 high school students for all three dress rehearsals.
