An OPERAtunity to go behind the scenes
Student groups, individual and home school families can go behind the scenes of Opera Grand Rapids through a collaborative program with St. Cecilia Music Center.
The program takes place just before the Student Dress Rehearsal at DeVos Hall and includes a pizza dinner and is appropriate for both middle school and high school students. Whether a student's passion is vocal or instrumental music, or stage and drama, OPERAtunity will enrich their understanding of the art form of opera, and enhance their experience at the theater.
Each OPERAtunity program includes a guest speaker who is directly involved with the production. The program begins at 6pm the night of the dress rehearsal with a pizza dinner at St. Cecilia Music Center. Then, at 7pm it is on to dress rehearsal at DeVos Performance Hall. OPERAtunity gives both the student and teacher an enhanced perspective into the themes and characters, drama and music of each opera.
